Keen sorting allows us to market your cattle in uniform groups, maximizing the feeding process in order to ensure the greatest rate of gain. This gives you, the individual producer, a real marketing advantage.
Cattle are marketed through Cargill Foods in High River, Alberta and through JBS in Brooks, Alberta.
Highland Feeders has grown significantly since its inception in 1983 when the owners diversified their grain operation with 50 feeder cattle. In 1994, with an 18,000 head capacity and 16 full time staff, Bern and Mike were named the Western Regional Finalists in Canada for Entrepreneur of the Year. In June of 1995 Profit Magazine listed Highland among Canada's fastest growing companies! Highland Feeders currently has a standing capacity of 36,000 head and is the sixth largest feedlot in Canada.
